Adda Baazi

Digital photographs on newsprint, wheatpaste
2013 | 2014

Installation view, New Delhi, 2013
A public art project that gently confronts male occupied spaces in New Delhi, India. Life sized photographs of women, in the middle of innocuous gestures, were pasted in male occupied spaces. The project was created to stimulate dialogue and introspection about complicity in perpetuating this kind of segregation in public spaces in Delhi.

'Adda Baazi' is a Hindi slang word that refers to ‘creating a space by hanging-out.’

In collaboration with Bathsheba Okwenje.
